Shoal offsets 108 tonnes of carbon through native reforestation with Greenfleet
Through practical climate action, Greenfleet is growing hope for our climate.
Shoal Group has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by offsetting 108 tonnes of carbon through Greenfleet, helping plant legally protected native forests across Australia and New Zealand. These forests, safeguarded for up to 100 years, play a crucial role in carbon sequestration.
Each year, Shoal calculates its carbon footprint across our operations, using data from transport, office power use, and staff commuting. For the financial year ending June 2025, we measured total carbon emissions at 108 tonnes and have now offset all of them through this continued partnership with Greenfleet.
Shoal’s investment does more than reduce carbon. These reforestation projects restore vital habitat for native and endangered wildlife, improve soil and water quality, and strengthen local ecosystems. We give back to the environment and reinforce our broader commitment to sustainability and social responsibility through these actions.
“Shoal’s purpose is to apply systems thinking to bring about positive change, and that extends beyond our work to the way we operate as a business,” said Shaun Wilson, Shoal CEO and Founder. “Our partnership with Greenfleet allows us to take tangible action on climate change and contribute to a healthier planet for future generations.”
This initiative demonstrates Shoal’s values of being self-aware, creative, bold, sociable, and resilient, and highlights the role every Shoaler plays in shaping a sustainable future.
About Greenfleet
Greenfleet is a leading not-for-profit environmental organisation protecting our climate by restoring our forests.
Greenfleet plants legally protected, native forests to restore nature, remove carbon, and grow wildlife habitat.
Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted over 11.2 million native trees across 550+ forests in Australia and New Zealand. As they grow, these forests absorb carbon, improve soil and water quality, and restore habitat for native wildlife, including many endangered species.
