​​Shoal announced as a 2025 DTC Innovation Award Finalist​

Shoal Group is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted as a 2025 Innovation Award Finalist in the Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) Defence Industry Awards. The DTC Innovation Award recognises defence suppliers who design innovative products or services that address a Defence capability gap or enhance Defence capability.  

Shoal’s nomination centres around FastCAD, a solution designed to rapidly assess warship signatures thereby enabling ‘on-the-fly’ threat analysis and decision-making. FastCAD uses LiDAR and photogrammetry to capture and generate high-resolution CAD models faster, more cost-effectively and more efficiently than contemporary methods. 

“FastCAD has rapidly matured to provide confidence and assurance that the physical configuration of deployed platforms can be quickly captured and signatures across a range of frequencies calculated in operationally meaningful timeframes,” said Shaun Wilson, Shoal Founder and CEO. “I’m very proud of our team, behind the research and development of FastCAD, and we’re looking forward to building on this capability even further.” 

While initially developed for naval platforms, FastCAD also has potential to extend across land and air vehicles and into a range of civil markets.

The winners of the Awards will be announced at the Defence Teaming Centre’s annual Defence Industry Dinner and Awards Ceremony 2025, to be held on Friday 5, December, at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
