Shoal presents at Aerospace Futures 2018

Shoal was pleased to be a silver sponsor of Aerospace Futures this week in Canberra! Shoal representatives attended all events, including presenting during the conference days and at the Future Workforce Panel.

Kevin Robinson, Chief Engineer, and John Furness, Systems Engineer, brought energy to the stage at the Australian Defence Force Academy with a presentation titled ‘A Career Creating Capability from Complexity’. Within they covered the need for techniques to cope with complexity and chaotic challenges in a world of increasing complexity. John also announced the Shoal internship with the world premiere of our video, The Intern!

Our People and Culture Manager, Mel Ciplys, presented at the Future Workforce Panel held at the National Press Club. Mel answered questions about desirable skills in the workplace, Shoal’s recruitment practises, including Shoal’s great culture. The panel also featured representatives from Defence Force Recruiting, Rocket Lab, CAE, and BAE Systems.

Shoal would like to congratulate the Aerospace Futures committee, the Australian Youth Aerospace Association, and all their supporters on another successful conference this year! Each year the event exceeds expectations, which is testimony to the efforts of a tireless group of self-motivated and self-organised volunteers of the AYAA. Aerospace Futures is an integral component of Shoal’s annual calendar, and we look forward to meeting more future aerospace leaders next in Sydney, Australia!
