As 2025 draws to an end, we’re taking a moment to reflect on, acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of our team and company in 2025.

Our people

Welcomed nine new team members to our shoal

(Particular thanks to one of our team who baked 13 different cakes for his wedding, road testing them on the Shoal team in Adelaide!)

Recognised as a Skilled Workplace in Mental Health First Aid and renewed our accreditation as a Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace
Released a blueprint for national resilience in a new report
Achieved epic results in our employee engagement survey and a record number of applications in our Early Careers program!

Our markets

Embraced new clients, including the capture of our first UAE contract in support of space technology company, FADA, as well as entering the energy sector via major efforts in energy decarbonisation of transport in heavy haulage
Demonstrated strong resilience to adapt and overcome some setbacks in major project cancellations, in particular across the Defence sector.
Attended more than 28 events across Australia and internationally to meet and support our clients and develop new business
Sponsored the inaugural INCOSE NZ Systems Engineering Conference, the Adelaide University Engineering Society Careers Night, the Australia – UAE Business Council Gala Dinner and the DTC Defence Industry Dinner and Awards.

Our thought leadership

Presented 15 papers or posters at nine conferences, nationally and internationally, chaired an international conference panel and were shortlisted as a finalist in the 2025 Interactive Presentations Competition at the 76^th International Astronautical Congress (IAC)
Presented at five events and chaired two industry panels
Had five articles published in publications ranging from Strategic Analysis Australia to the Australian Army Journal.

Our community

Partnered with FreddyMatch to support our people find volunteering opportunities in the community
Offset 108 tonnes of carbon through native reforestation with Greenfleet
Welcomed the OPK9 team into our Adelaide office from See Differently with the Royal Society for the Blind
Supported the next generation of professional systems engineers and analysts at careers fairs with the Australian Institute of Physics, Adelaide University Engineering Society, Adelaide University STEM careers day and Flinders University
Our Shoal Bloodletting team made 27 donations of either whole blood or plasma to Lifeblood Australia
Supported the Police Science Journal and Australian Firefighter.

What a year!

While some of us will continue to work during the holiday period, many of us will be spending time with family and friends, and taking the opportunity to pause and recharge, ready to embrace 2026!
