Shoal wins at AusRAIL PLUS 2017

Shoal participated in AusRAIL PLUS 2017 in Brisbane this week, a conference which saw more than 1000 industry professionals come together to network, debate, and discuss all things rail.

Two  Shoal engineers, Jase Berry and Lam-Thien Vu, previously announced as winners of the Next Generation Conference Scholarship by the Australasian Railway Association, joined the Shoal contingent at AusRAIL PLUS as part of their prize and were awarded a certificate at the conference Gala Dinner honouring their hard work and efforts.

“I am pleased to announce the rail graduates who have been selected for their innovative ideas on how they could market and promote the rail industry in a positive and impactful way,” said Danny Broad, Chief Executive Officer, ARA.

“The winners are commended for their innovative approaches in being able to think about alternative methods of communicating to individuals in a way that promotes the rail industry positively.” Other scholarship recipients were also announced on the AusRAIL and Australasian Railway Association websites.

Shoal CEO, Shaun Wilson, joined a panel of industry executives to judge the 2017 Young Professional Pitching Competition.

The three-day conference, complete with technical paper presentations, put the focus on engaging both current and future generations of rail experts. This conference was accompanied by a large trade exhibition with representation from small and local companies to multinational and overseas enterprises. Reflecting the theme, Rail’s Digital Revolution, the 2017 event showcased the latest innovations from people, systems, and products to address the opportunities and challenges facing the industry.
