Celebrating what it means to be Shoal in 2024

2024 has been a big year at Shoal. As we prepare for a well-deserved Christmas break, we’ve reflected on what it means to be Shoal, as we celebrate some of our significant events and achievements of our team and company throughout the year.

Our people

  • Welcomed five new team members to our shoal
  • Celebrated one engagement, one marriage, and seven babies
  • Were amazed (and perhaps a little exhausted) by …
    • One iron man,
    • A trekker of the pacific crest trail,
    • Another to Everest Base Camp,
    • A cyclist who rode from Canberra to Melbourne, and
    • A competitor in the biennial National Disaster Rescue Challenge
  • Congratulated two graduations, a PhD and a diploma
  • Promoted ten of our engineers and analysts.

Our credentials

Our thought leadership

  • Presented eleven papers at six conferences, nationally and internationally, and won Best Paper at SETE 2024
  • Facilitated a session at the Submarine Institute of Australia 12th Biennial Conference
  • Spoke at the DTC Defence Leaders Breakfast.

Our new endeavours

  • Launched ‘energy’ as a new area of specialisation in our infrastructure market, providing digital engineering to model and analyse complex energy decarbonisation projects
  • Formed a joint venture with Resource Unicorns Capital to establish Solarh2e, a company dedicated to the decarbonisation and electrification of heavy haulage in mining and elsewhere
  • Opened a new Canberra office to better support our local clients and staff.

Our community

What a year!

While some of us will continue to work during the holiday period, many of us will be spending time with family and friends, and taking the opportunity to pause and recharge, ready to embrace 2025!

We wish our friends, colleagues and broader network the very best wishes for Christmas and the holiday season.
