Shoal Group proud to be inaugural member of Team TECSA
Shoal Group is proud to be part of Team TECSA (Test and Evaluation, Certification and Systems Assurance), a collaborative initiative led and launched by QinetiQ at Land Forces 2024 today.
Team TECSA was established in response to the Government’s National Defence Strategy and Defence Industry Development Strategy, which identify the future structure, direction and requirements for Defence and Defence Industry. In particular, the Defence industry Development Strategy sets out seven Sovereign Defence Industrial Priorities, one of which has a focus on Test and Evaluation, which Team TECSA aim to address:
‘Test and evaluation, certification and systems assurance: Test and evaluation plays a critical role across all elements of the capability life cycle. Its role is to assure that capabilities are safe and operationally viable through the provision of objective evidence to quantify the risk of new technologies, concepts or capabilities on warfighting operations.’[1]
“Shoal has over two decades of experience in supporting Defence and industry priorities,” says Shaun Wilson, Shoal CEO. “We are pleased to be joining with other leading companies and academic institutions to develop this very important capability for the nation.”
As noted by QinetiQ at the Team TECSA launch event today …
‘The Sovereign Defence Industrial Priority for Test and Evaluation identified a shortage of 400 qualified test and evaluation personnel in Australia in 2024, growing to 1,000 in 2030. Collaboration between industry and the academic institutions in Team TECSA will help Australia build the capacity to upskill and grow this workforce.
Team TECSA is committed to growing Australia’s sovereign industrial capabilities for Defence, with an Australian workforce focused on advancing the national interest together.’
