Shoal’s Head of Strategy to present on national resilience at ANI 2025 Goldrick Seminar

Shoal Group is pleased to announce that Graeme Dunk PhD, Head of Strategy, will be presenting at the Australian Naval Institute (ANI) 2025 Goldrick Seminar. His accepted abstract, titled ‘National Resilience – How to prepare Australian industry to support protracted conflict’, will contribute to a panel session focused on National Support, a central theme of the seminar program.

Graeme’s presentation will explore how Australia can best prepare its industrial base to maintain operational effectiveness during sustained periods of conflict and disruption. Following his presentation, he will join a panel to further discuss insights into national support of defence capability.

This invitation reflects Shoal’s ongoing thought leadership on national resilience, systems thinking and sovereign defence capability. The ‘Shoal Group Report: Australia and a plan for national resilience’, released earlier this year, comprises the latest thinking on creating a framework for national resilience. Researched and written by Graeme, the Report has already informed Federal Government, industry and research institutions on the strategic important of resilient national systems.

The Goldrick Seminar is a flagship event held by the ANI each year. Named in honour of the late Rear Admiral James Goldrick, AO, CSC, the one day conference explores an issue of interest to the Chief of Navy. This year, the theme is ‘ACTION STATIONS: Australia’s Fighting Navy in 2030’, a key area of the Navy’s current research. Considering that, in 2030, the Navy’s maritime capabilities will be largely consistent with today, they are looking at how to best use these capabilities in the national interest.

The event will be held on Thursday 2nd of October 2025 at the Hotel Realm in Canberra and will also celebrate the ANI’s 50th Anniversary.
