Shoal CEO announced as a finalist for Executive of the Year 2020
Shoal CEO, Michael Waite, has joined a prestigious list of finalists for Executive of the Year 2020, in the Defence Connect Australian Defence Industry Awards. The awards promote and recognise excellence in the defence sector, for individual, organisational, research and academic achievements.
“I am thrilled to be acknowledged alongside such an accomplished list of executives,” said Michael upon receiving notification of his finalist status.
Michael is one of ten executives in the list of finalists, including:

Having joined Shoal as a Systems Engineer in 2009, Michael’s responsibilities quickly grew. He was appointed to CEO in June 2019. During the 12 months following, he has led Shoal’s Corporate Leadership Team to achieve significant growth, despite the challenging times. Headcount has grown by over 44% to substantially grow revenues.
Founded in 2001, Shoal has experienced growth from a small start-up to a medium sized business. In his new role of CEO, Michael provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to anticipate and meet Shoal’s needs in growing the business further. He has a strong focus and commitment to company values and culture, which differentiates Shoal in competitive markets across defence, transport and space sectors.
