Shoal speaks at Aerospace Futures 2017 in Adelaide
Shoal was proud to continue support for Aerospace Futures in Adelaide this year as a Silver Sponsor. The annual three-day conference is hosted by the Australian Youth Aerospace Association and focuses on providing the next generation of aerospace leaders a view into the breadth and depth of the aerospace industry.
Systems engineers, Nikita Sardesai and John Furness, presented on Shoal’s expertise in systems engineering and in modelling and simulation. These covered examples of work conducted by Shoal, successful research and development projects, and some ‘systems engineering life advice’ for the participants.
John Furness also moderated the space industry panel night that examined the various space initiatives across the country and what may follow after the International Astronautical Congress is held in Adelaide later this year. The discussion also covered the case for an Australian space agency, gender equity in the industry, and some words of advice for the audience. The panel featured:
- Peter Nikoloff, representing the Space Industry Association of Australia and Nova Systems;
- Brett Biddington, Chief Executive Officer of the International Astronautical Congress for Adelaide 2017;
- Sumen Rai, Defence SA, Government of South Australia; and
- Patrick Neumann, Chief Scientist of Neumann Space, a start-up based in Adelaide developing a plasma thruster.
Shoal looks forward to continuing our long history of supporting and cultivating Australia’s next generation of technology leaders at Aerospace Futures.
